What a crazy weekend!

By November 29, 2010 No Comments

Wow – the last few days went by in a hurry! Here’s the rundown of the weekend: the West Yellowstone Supertour races went on as planned, without any more super cold days to delay things further. Thurday was the double-sprint qualifier, Friday was the 10km skate, and Saturday’s classic 5km was warm enough that I felt my toes and fingers the whole day! (this is a huge deal, by the way – I hadn’t felt my toes at all the previous 3 races)

Results from the races can be found at Summit Timing. I’ve linked them here.

However, the best was seeing Tad Elliott at the top of the podium for the 15km men’s skate, which he absolutely dominated! Here’s pictures from the awards ceremony, with Tad in 1st.

And Brian Gregg’s awesome 3rd place in the men’s 10km classic!

Yesterday Maria, Jennie and I went for an epic Over Distance ski and we hit up all the trails in the park; Windy Ridge, Dead Dog, the Rendezvous loop and Deja View! And then we packed up everything and left the Brandin’ Iron Inn for a sweet house on the edge of town. Jennie and I snagged an awesome room with super comfy beds that gave me the best night’s sleep I’ve had in the last 2 weeks!

(The cable TV is a pretty huge bonus)

Now that things have settled down in West Yellowstone, I’m looking forward to a nice relaxing week of training, maybe some more loops of Windy Ridge, and lots of chilling out in our house!
