Yes, I know our exciting skydiving trip was a week ago, but I was waiting till I got all the cool photos to do a post on it! Before you start questioning my sanity – I mean, I’ll willingly leap from a plane but I’m scared of mountain biking? I understand your concern – let me explain myself. The way I see it, skydiving is one of those activities where you don’t really get injured. You either make it through just fine, or, you know…you die. But odds are, you’re more likely to get killed in the car driving over to the jump site. So. Now that we’ve got my logical explanation out of the way…I had the opportunity to jump at our last camp, down in Ogden, Utah. And I leapt at the chance (pun intended).

To the great surprise of absolutely no-one, I was the ringleader in getting a group together to come jump with me. I was going to go solo, but then Matt said he was in…and it spiraled. We had 9 jumpers from the Ski Team, and it was so much more fun to share the adrenaline and rush of the experience with other people!

Stephanie Gardner set up the photos and video for me. She’s this awesome girl who works for Amer Sports, and Salomon.

We had the option to wear suits, but I like to feel the wind on my skin so I opted out. I thought they looked pretty sweet and futuristic, though.

Pre-jump. Nervous? No way.

I’m going to be honest – in the plane my heart picked up. I was nervous in that good way, the way I feel before a big race. I was so excited to get out the door I could barely sit still.

I told George I wanted the wildest ride possible, and he was a good listener. 🙂 We did 3 backflips out the door of the plane, and those moments tumbling in space were pure joy mixed with terror.

It. Was. Awesome.

It was so hard to leave afterwards! I feel like I’m looking for that next rush, to keep that feeling. But that’s what makes it so special, I guess. Till next time, Ogden!
