The Turkey World Junior/U23 trip has been a really great experience, despite my personal hiccups in the week. It’s been so cool to see international racing through the eyes of junior racers who are here for the first time, and it’s also really cool to continue to meet people from the other…
Here’s a little update on what’s going on – there’s definitely been some awesome times in Poland, and some rough travel getting to Turkey! Poland was really fun – the fans there were nuts over Kowalczyk, and were singing and hiking around the course to cover all the tough hills,…
This was such a crazy weekend! Both the 15km mass start classic and the 4x5km relay were great opportunities to work on mental toughness and dig deep. Our team as a whole didn’t have a great day in the classic, and everyone was pretty smoked at the end of the race….
Rybinsk was awesome (except for when you were dealing with frostbite!) and I’m super glad we went. Kershaw won the first race of the weekend: a 15km skate, which was just so cool to see, and I had a career best 5th place in the women’s 10km skate. Which was some kind of crazy and…
Moscow is COLD! And racing here is even colder…but apparantly, that’s good news if you’re from team USA! Yesterday’s sprint race was the best race of my life, and it was a great day for the women’s team. Race day was warm enough to race, but that was about it….
If a picture’s REALLY worth 10,000 words, that’s good…because I’m writing none!
OK – updated version! Otepaa was so fun! However, my favorite part of the weekend was cheering on the coaches. The night before the sprints, there were servicemen relays. Every country got to field a team of 3 wax techs, and they did a shortened version of the sprint course…
OhMyGosh I LOVE my job! This past weekend I got to ski in my second and third World Cup races ever, and be Kikkan’s partner in the team sprint where we made history with Canada in getting the first two North American teams on the podium! So cool! The…
Whew! US Nationals…what a crazy, busy week! We finished up on Sunday with the classic sprint. I felt a little bit like a wind-up doll that was slowly powering down…but thanks to the coaches (and their caffeine!), I had one last race in me. Sometimes everything comes together on race day and…
For the past 48 hours, I’ve had an awful lot of glitter on! Friday was the 20km mass start classic race, and Saturday afternoon was a shortened but still super fun Fast and Female event in Bethel, Maine. Cool beans. Sooo…the 20k. Pack skiing. It’s nuts. It’s also super fun!…
